Trauma affects all aspects of child development, including social pragmatic communication, language, and literacy. Communication is an essential skill in daily life, and literacy is critical for academic success. Speech-language clinicians and educators are uniquely qualified to effectively identify and support these skills in children with traumatic experiences. Module 3: Impact of Trauma on Social Pragmatic Communication, Language, and Literacy will address the impact that complex trauma has on the development and functioning of social pragmatic communication, language, and literacy.
